Many installation issues are caused by having incompatible software on your computer. Please make sure you have removed any previous security software, such as other Anti-Virus, Anti-Spyware, Internet Security, or standalone Firewall applications.
Kaspersky versions 2009 and 7.0 do not need to be removed prior to installing Kaspersky 2010. Even if your previous security software is not in the official list of incompatible software, removing it prior to installing Kaspersky is recommended.
If you have Windows Vista, go to Start > Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features. Click the program to remove, and then click the Uninstall button above the list. If you have Windows XP, go to Start > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs. Click on the program to remove, and then click on the Remove button to the right.
If the normal removal process still leaves behind leftovers of an incompatible program, running the removal tool for that program should resolve the issue.
